Funding programme
Fostering hybrid and quantum computing adoption in Grand Est’s companies
Why invest in quantum today?
The window of opportunity is now
Quantum technologies are rapidly becoming a strategic frontier, redefining competitive advantage across industries.Where classical computing meets its limits, quantum opens the door new possibilities : faster optimisation, unprecedented data processing, and reduced uncertainty in decision-making. The companies investing today will build critical know-how, develop innovative applications, and secure scarce talent before their competitor do.

A call for projects to support innovation
Is your company looking to assess and explore potential quantum use cases, or to undertake a research and development (R&D) project based on hybrid or quantum computing?
MaQuEst is launching a call for projects aimed at companies wishing to benefit from financial support from the Grand Est Region of up to €150,000. This funding aims to support the exploration of use cases or the launch of research, development or innovation projects in quantum or hybrid computing (HPC/quantum).
Two funding options :
- Quantum assessment: identify and explore your use cases
- Quantum research, development and innovation: develop an innovative use case
The main expenditure items included in the calculation of the grant are:
- The costs of the company’s in-house staff assigned to the project and the associated operating costs (up to a limit of 20 per cent of the costs of the in-house staff assigned to the project).
- External services, expert contributions or collaboration agreements relating to the innovation project (non-exhaustive examples: studies, consultancy, support relating to intellectual property, the development of proof-of-concepts, studies and the fine-tuning of production processes, etc.).
- Feasibility, technical, economic, legal and financial studies.
- Market and competition research, and partner searches.
Option 1 : Quantum Assessment
Support for projects aimed at identifying and exploring use cases utilising high-performance computing (HPC) and/or quantum computing.
Maximum grant: €15,000, corresponding to up to 50 per cent of eligible expenditure (excluding VAT), depending on the size of the company.
Option 2: Quantum R&D and Innovation Projects
Support for exploratory projects developing innovative use cases based on hybrid (HPC) or quantum computing, applied to a defined industrial challenge and demonstrating a high degree of innovation.
Maximum grant: €150,000, corresponding to between 25% and 45% of eligible expenditure (excluding VAT), depending on the size of the company.
